$560,000 Missing
This catastrophy has taken all the funds in our family business and our personal savings. With our business now in tatters and soon to be would up, we have no potential income stream either. We are regular middle class people and certainly not rich. We are both 64 and about to retire after a life time of hard work and saving.
During the month of July 2008 we sent much time talking to KSF IOM about the bank guarantees. As with others we received the statement that we were covered for the first £15,000 by the IOM Depositors Protection Scheme then the remainder of the funds (making 100% cover on all deposits) with the parent company Kaupthing Bank. I received that statement in writing and even asked KSF IOM for a confirmation on Monday 6 Oct 08 which again I received in writing but with an up lift of the £15,000 to £50,000.
I also requested my funds to be wired transferred the same day and was informed on the morning of 7 Oct 08 that the transfer had been processed and sent. As with others it did not arrive.
We are devistated but ready for some co ordinated acton with our new group on this web site. Media seems to cover every aspect of the credit crunch except the KSF IOM problems.
What can we do collectively to get these problems highlighted to the key political people, the media and the general public? Is there a plan of action, do we have a commitee representing us?
