Human Rights

Article 17 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:

(1) Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.

(2) No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.

The European Convention on Human Rights states: (Protocol. Enforcement of certain Rights and Freedoms not included in Section I of the Convention, Artcle 1)

Every natural or legal person is entitled to the peaceful enjoyment of his possessions. No one shall be deprived of his possessions except in the public interest and subject to the conditions provided for by law and by the general principles of international law.
